Hi, the unknown bike is now stripped to the bare bones .

Strayed off the topic a bit there sorry ,

Sun Logo for me

I'm going to use my ALAN as a donor for the build, taking wheels, front and rear mech's, chainset, bars and stem and maybe the saddle.

Very nice.

If you ever want to sell or swap that seatpost let me know as I have just the project for it.

Was going to get Super Record, then found the S.R which is lighter and will match the stem. Campag on the ALAN will be spare...25mm. Pennine Cycles confirmed it's frame number 12 from 1980, built by Graham Saunders.

Nice frame that's obviously been updated down the years to keep it in use. I wonder if it was single ring initially given the over-BB rear cable guide and under-BB front combined with braze-on front mech attachment?

Love that straight-through freewheel - I wouldn't get very far with one of those these days.

if it was me I'd go for the drilled out gear lever.

1980 would make it 531SL then rather than 531P.

Mark.
