Over the Christmas I had a fun raffle and raised the princely sum of £40 for a local Autism charity thats dear to me.I accepted participants(friends) payments through Paypal. The £40 was donated a few weeks back in cash.Today I get an email from Paypal saying that they have monitored my activity and raising money via PP is against their t&cs and have suspended my account,I explained my side but they wouldnt hear it.Options?

Re:

"Raising funds/raffle via Paypal".I explained exactly what I did,a bit of festive fun for a good cause, said I wasnt aware of their T&Cs and I assured them that it wouldnt happen again.I thought a little humanity/common sense would prevail but no,thems the rules Im afraid and my pp account is gone....

did they transfer any funds that were in your account back to your bank before closing or did they keep it if any? as heard some right horror story's about them recently.

So they'll refund toe rags who buy goods and then keep but say they didn't turn up.
But not let you use it as a banking place.

Was this over the phone you had a chat.0
Anyway easy enough to set up another I assume.

Next time use the charity sites justgiving or similar.

What I don't get id you can donate on ebay at checkout to charities, I assume again paypals T&C.
Also you can give a percentage of the sale price to charity or sell as a charity, all I assume against the T&C of paypal who you are collecting and paying via.?

Re:

A buddy used to work for PP and she said that as they are a US company they have strict rules on gambling, this explains the hardline attitude to raffles etc.I will have to set up a new account but will it be a problem to link it with my bank as PP will recognise my account details straight away?
