Just for the record the Proshift front mechs work superbly, better than a M900 but not quite as good as Suntour XC Pro. 😉

That's a bold statement. They do work well though and are a masterpiece of intricate engineering.
I can't honestly say mine works better than the Campag Record OR I regularly use, and many folk would say the Campag lags behind a Shimano or Suntour....?

There are a lot of unseen press fit friction reducing bushings in the OEM ones that work better, compared to the basic softer alloy on alloy designs of Pauls & Proshift. Then the rigidity and shape of the shifting cage has its effect. This all assumes the mechs are not excessively worn out of course. Dunno, its always been a thing that bugged me, excessive flex, metal rubbing etc. Nothing beats mechanical shifting perfection even under hard load 🥸
