Nice set of tyres :) Just wanted to say that anyone who misses out on these can still buy them new here: https://www.bike-discount.de/en/buy/smo ... 6tpi-66167 - a pair including shipping to UK will cost £61

These are original smokes, the tyres on the site you keep pointing out are RE-manufactured tyres, look similar but not the same. To a lot of members its important to get the original's.
Also, have you tried to order a smoke/dart from that site? they were out of stock of one or the other for a while

Sorry THM, back to you :)

I ordered 'em :)
Imo, it's worse if they're original - no matter the quality of rubber, it'll all end up the same way, hard, cracked and perished.
I'd rather have new rubber tyres that look 99% identical and are safe to use and will last
Of course if you were to buy these tyre's for a living room bike they'd be fine :)

I find its the members from abroad who tend to go straight for PM's

:P I think it is because wearenotused/wedon´tfullyunderstand the dibbing thing. A couple weeks ago I dibbed a nice 18" 94 Hei Hei frame pending shipping cost from a well known forum user, with PM sent and answered. The seller somehow decided not to sell the frame to me, and sell it to another user, and I still have not received a reason why :?
In any case, nice tyres and I wish I lived in the UK when these items come up

I'd rather have new rubber tyres that look 99% identical...

I have been searching for a nice couple of Smokes, Smoke/Dart, Psychos, Porcs etc... for a little while and I wonder what are the differences between originals and re-issues as they could be a second option should a pair of originals don´t come up.

Sorry to History Man for asking in his thread and I hope he is not bothered as the tyres are sold

Re:

As far as I know, the Re issues are folding tyres, have slightly different printing on the walls and the word 'classic' - other than that, are the same.

Re: your frame issue, I would think the seller just preferred to sell it in this country. It's not an easy thing to post, and likely to be damaged in transit which creates one big headache for both involved.

Ok, thank you! I thought they used to sell folding tyres BITD :) I had wire-blackskin ones in 94 and was never too happy about front Dart (too squarish to me), but loved Smoke for rear, and probably Smokes front and rear (as the ones sold here) were a great setup.

Re: frame issue, I think an explanation as short as yours would have been enough for me... :P but the frame may have travelled overseas anyway   I will keep on searching for another one :)
