Painting and renovation

I hope I've found the right area for my post; I'm stripping and painting a 98 Explosif but I'm being very sinful and painting it in a custom colour scheme.
What I want to know is where I should post the painting process for anyone who's interested and also where I should post my services as a painter.
I'd love to repaint bikes in very closely matched original colours and do it to a higher standard than powder coating but for similar or maybe very slightly more. I work for a paint company which matches colours to very exacting standards and I can get the paint and access to professional quality equipment relatively cheaply so I'd love to make use of what I have to hand which obviously made me think of you guys.
Anyway, if anyone can guide me to the right forum for my needs that'd be great.
Cheers,
Matt

Hello!

I reckon if you want to post a "how to" guide the Retro MTB chat forum (I'd certainly be interested) would be a good bet, here:

for commercial advertising of your services I'd say email the guvnor (John) [email protected] and see what he has to say.

Cool, I'll post my pics there and see what happens.
As for posting my services I'll contact John but, with out meaning to curry favour but also being fully aware I will do I'd like to paint a bike for cheap and get sone feedback on my skills. It obviously takes time to build up a customer base but there doesn't seem anyone out there who repaints bikes to the level they deserve and if I'm nothing else I'm passionate about old mountain bikes.
Anyway, watch this or some other space,
Matt

Rob,
There's no way I'd paint your Pace frame! Anything else goes though.
On second thoughts, I can polish aluminium pretty well with the tools at work and if I can find a clearcoat to stick to the polished ali.... Hmm, could be another project in the pipeline.

Thank god for that, polishing's a nasty job but the results are totally worth it!
Hopefully they're not metallic, our 40 grand colour computer doesn't do them strangely. I'm also toying with decal paper so I might be able to do custom graphics which would be very cool. If I can get it to work I'm going to do a Betty Boop B-17 aircraft inspired job on her Grifter, should be pretty cool.
I've emailed John to check it's ok to offer my services (ohh, err, mrs) and if he gives me the go ahead how'd you fancy me painting one and reviewing my skills as payment?
In the mean time I'll post my renovation pics and tips for anyone whose's interested.
