hi all
ive just built up my kahuna with some pace pro-class (gold leg version) ive had for a while.
the forks were set for the 70mm travel and were recently serviced by tim and given a clean bill of health.
i swapped the travel round to 90 using the little pin wotsit / travel springs in the legs and they seem to work very well. however, there is a really annoying 'loose headset' type sound coming from the none-damper leg.
its especially apparent when you lift the bike onto its back wheel and bounce it up and down. you can notice it while riding sometimes too and it knocks a bit like a loose headset when the front brake is on - it seems to get a bit worse when you compress the forks down a bit...
ive had them to pieces and i cant see anything obviously wrong - it seems like the spring itself is rattling against the end of the stanction? the bolts at the bottom of the legs are tight, as are the nylon tube wotsits.
just wondered if anyone could confirm if this is normal/bit of a trait of them, or is it something that needs looking into further?
i'd not really ridden the forks before so i dont know if they were doing it in 70mm mode or not :?
any thoughts would be hugely appreciated!
ta!
