I think the clue is here...
"Custom made for me a lifetime ago by a Pace Cycles Engineer" - which implies not officially done by Pace bu someone who worked there.

@justbackdated probably rebuilt them with spares.

I sent my rc36s to him a couple of years ago and the original stanchions were crimped, so they were replaced with ti nitrate ones.

Seems legit, it's exactly what the seller is saying, custom made by a Pace engineer some years ago

But the only difference I can see is the Ti Nitrided stanchions, otherwise they're regular RC35's. They're nice alright, but I'm not sure they're £350 nice!
