PACE RC31 - Question... ?

Hi, sooo I'm looking to get some forks for my 1996 Nukeproof Ti frame... it has Nukeproof Carbon hubs and Nukeproof carbon bars... I don't like suspension forks so I think a Carbon rigid fork would be perfect...

From the little research I did a Pace RC31 would fit the bill... Any suggestions on this? The frame has a short headtube and is suspension corrected a little bit... but I want to bring the front end up as much as I can (within reason)... are there different models of the RC31? one I saw was 440mm.... what suspension travel is that equivalent to? I think I need in the 60-80mm range to bring the front end to where I want it to be,, 80mm would be pushing the gepmetry but nice for riding...

Any suggestions on this?? I know nothing about PACE other than what I have seen here on RetroBike

Side note: If anyone has an RC31 for sale let me know... =)

The 420mm RC31 would be more suitable for the 63-80mm suspension corrected range. They come up on Ebay.co.uk often.

In the 420mm, there is an early version with a CNC crown and the carbon weave has a rather course finish. Proper old skool Carbon.

All steerer tubes are alloy. The later versions have a cast crown anodised in silver or black, some with the
carbon course weave, but most have a new style smoother weave.

There is also a Ti version - the Ti part is used to support the tubes in the cast crown instead of steel -
they are very very rare though.

Paint chips to the magnesium wheel drop-outs is common, but as long as they are in reasonable shape there is
nothing to worry about really. All versions have the disktab, but you can add v-brake clamps too.

I've got them on two bikes at the moment, love them and trust them....not that I do anything too rough or crazy though.

Very good forks. I've owned a few. Not really suitable for use with QR's that rotate against the dropout as they wear it away very quickly.
Very light too, from memory my 440mm a-c 225mm steerer Ti versions are 650g.

They also have an 85kg rider limit recommendation.
Gimme steel any day!
Try some Vicious Cycles forks if you get the chance. About a pound heavier than RC31s but much more absorbent of trail buzz and much less flippity flappety.
Altogether more pleasant!
