Pace RC300 - FOR SALE

Sorry Jerky, it was DR-S. I think you are right in what you say, it maybe worth concidering spliting it and selling the frame along with any other retro componant you have on it,and keep the XT and other modern gear for your next build if its your taste.
I sold my near mint Rc200 F3 frame for £350.00 and Middelburn cranks for £80.00, but i had to split it as all the componants were modern and i knew it would not sell as a complete bike.

The XT main components were on it whe I bought it. I just went like for like when replacing it. I just wanted something functional to use, it wasnt a show bike or anything...I don't ride it so would like to reclaim the space. I have no use for the components and it's a faff to strip
And sell and post everything separately.

The BIN is a bit of a flyer, which is why I put best offer on it. Looking for £850-900 really. Nearly got there a couple of times so we'll see!...

(Also I wouldn't sell a pace )

I know... I thought I was hallucinating when I read that!

That was me who sold the mint frame on here for £500 and I probably could have sold five of them with the interest I had..... That one was 18" and I replaced it with a 16.5" which I paid £460 for on ebay.
I think you'd probably get £950 if you were to split it so anything over £800 would be good price for the complete bike....
A few months back a bike with similar spec fetched only £670 iirc....

There is an Rc200 on there at the moment going for £700 with 3 days left to run on it's auction. That will fetch over 900. I received an offer of 800 within 1 day of putting it on. My buy it now price is 950. I'm open to sensible offers and just waiting for the right one.

It cost £2 to put it up an I'm in no hurry to sell so happy to wait for the right buyer.

Thanks for your comments! All publicity is good publicity!!

I think the RC200 highest bidder was about right £670. Some People except to get all there money back when selling these types of bikes, i presume we will be seeing this bike up again on ebay with a much lower reserve price next time.

I would say comparing rc200's to 300's is a little unfair. Over the generations there were a lot of 200's produced they are fairly common ( if such a thing can be said of a pace). The 300 was around for a relatively short period, far far fewer made and represents the ultimate evolution of the design. And as such are as modern a representation of the old classic as possible. They still make for good xc race bikes. 300 frames always fetch a good premium over a 200 frame.

The xt build is as you say perfectly good and correct to the period ( the rc 300 was made upto 2003 if memory serves. ) however splitting it down would net a better price as it is a fairly boutique frame and the prospective new buyer will likely wish to build it in their own style.

Good luck with the sale.

You're not wrong!! Cleared about £1100 and kept about £100 of parts back!
Best offer was £775 for the complete bike! You could make a living out of this!!!

The best way to work eBay nowadays is to go for a slightly cheeky BIN price to see if anyone wants it enough to go for it. We've all seen daft BIN prices but i dont think this is one of them

Remember the fees he'll have to pay on this if it sells will be a fair bit so you have to bump up the price to cover it.

I think if he's had an offer of £800 within a day then the BIN he's set is spot on. I like to do "best offer" too as it helps you sell it a bit easier, giving you the option to take less if you want.
