Pace rc30 repaint?

Re:

I'm not sure toast is an ideal material as an elastomer replacement. How well does it work ;)

Happy to take a look at them, maybe we could work out a part exchange if they are what I'm looking for (elastomers from pace cost £45 I believe).

On the RC30s...I had a set repainted for Papillon. 2-coat metallic burnt orange.

The dropouts can be de-bonded with a hot air gun. The epoxy will smoke a little and die at around 80 degrees. Hold the dropout in a vice and torque the crown lightly until it twists, pull and turn to remove.
Easy to re-bond after paint with a decent epoxy. Assemble with a trusted front wheel fitted. Strap the wheel up into the crown to keep it all held together while the bond goes off.

A single coat powder or wet shouldn't be a problem on the diameter. Just make sure that the legs are painted the right way up so that any edge bead is at the bottom, not at the crown end. It could be high-temp masked before paint, or carefully sanded after paint. Don't try to remove the old chrome unless they're being re-plated. Just sand down any stepped edges or corrosion.

All the best,

Cheers. Might look into some sort of wrap, as this can be removed. Going to see how they look on the build in all their chrome glory first once I've found a suitable shim.
