do the vertical drop outs have a Mech hanger?

Yes, http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=698187

however mine came with a different drop out that pushed the hanger to a very forward position and is more suited to a tensioner mount than a derailleur mount.

you can use a mech hanger fine i take it you'd want gears and use it as a mountainbike?
