G'day, dusting off my PaceRC200 F2 today (#RC0548 ) after seeing some old posts, thought I'd jump in and do a bit of a scan of other Pace RC200F2's and drop some pics. Mine was used in racing national series in Australia around mid 90's (was a poor uni student at the time), had a great spec level at the time and was such a change after racing on entry level Apollo Everest with LX gear and Girvin flexstem as my only bit of boing.
Doing some of this from recall, as I've modified some bits over the years, but when racing, it was running:
- Suntour XCPro gear - thumbshifters, top pull front derailleur, XC Pro rear (still have them, but since swapped to SRAM X9's)
- Syncros Ti bar
- Syncros stem (since broken and replaced)
- Syncros seatpost (similar fate)
- Ringle front hub
- XTR 5-arm crank + RockRing (needed that on a few courses)
- Mavic M261 rims
- Pace RC35 kevlar forks (elastomers now well gone, crossed over to a Marzocchi MX Comp as it was one of the few fork options still left in 1" steerer)
- Ripper set of MintSauce decals
Nice to see the appreciation for them, those frames were such a great bit of workmanship. Still gets ridden regularly.
