Pace RC200 f5 headset size / 1” fork steerer

While I think I know the answer, please bare with me….

I recently purchased an F5, which came with new (Modus h510xx) headset fitted and I can only assume (based on measurements and research on frame specs) that it’s a 1” aheadset. However, the RC35 MXCD’s I’ve got for it have a 1 1/8” threadless steerer.

So, is my only option to get a new steerer tube for my forks? If so, does anyone have one they want to part with?

Are you sure? I had an F3 iirc and that was 1 inch head tube, I thought after that they were 1 1/8.

Yes, you can get a 1 inch steerer for your forks, you'll need a reducer shim/race for the crown for it to fit though.

I'd check the headset, it doesn't sound right to me.

Hello, just replied to your eBay question 👍

Just to confirm, if the fork is an 1995/6 RC35 MXC/D you will need a 1 1/4” to 1” reducer shim making some more soon) as they all have a 1 1/4” steerer socket, later forks had a 1 1/8” steerer socket, therefore needing a 1 1/8” to 1” shim.
Cheers 🍻

Fantastic, that’s what I’ll be needing then. Thanks 🙏🏼
