Hi Guys,

My Pace RC100 needs new a bottom bracket.

Unfrortunalty I've had no luck finding replacment cartridges. ( tried Pace and bearing suppliers)

Anyone any suggestions on what to do? With the width of the BB shell i'm not sure that even if I taped some threads I could get a modern BB to fit, and then I'd need new cranks anyway.

cheers

Martin

Thanks..

I read it it detail as soon as I have some free time, but i guess you're suggesting that the US company may be ablle to help?

The only problem there is that I'm guessing these are for an RC100 which had a press fit BB rather than a screw-in threaded one, so the shims for shimano external BBs won't help as you won't be able to screw the BB in in the first place. The only real option is to get them from a bearing supplier. So if you have the old bearings you should have a serial number on them, you may well have to source from further afield: US, Japan or the like and you may have to buy a decent number of them to make it worth your while, but I can't believe that there isn't a bearing supplier in the UK that couldn't source them . In short Desperado won't be the way forward

size needed is apparently

39mm external
22mm Internal
9mm width.

I've now tried 2 UK bearing importers both said they have been asked before and both dont know of any

Me too!

I've got a mate who works at Mclaren, but if he has to have them made they might be prohibitively expensive.

These are the ones you are after...

One issue is these don't have a shield on either side of the bearing, the originals were shielded on one side and open on the other so the grease could be pumped in through the grease nipple on the BB

I have three of these, one has a shield and was used breifly the other two are brand new, unopened

Coding is SKF France ~ 619/22

I bought them as spares when I had my RC100, Pace had run out and that must have been 10+ years ago :?

They might be for sale
