Pace RC 405 'chainring' help please

Hi guys,

I wonder if there is anyway that I can fit a 52 t chainring to the aforementioned bike. I've read that it's impossible to fit any larger than a 46 t because the rear suspension support bracket is in the way.

Is there anyway around this problem, possibly fitting it to the bottom tube?

Just throwing it out there.

As for your question

It's not possible.

MTB front mech wouldn't cope with the larger 52t ring

If you could move the cranks cross the chainline would be out & it would affect the whole drivetrain

If you could move the cranks across a front mech probably wouldn't be able to shift into the large ring as it might not move across far enough

Why would you want to put a 52t ring on a MTB?

It's not impossible as I've a friend who has a 52 t on his Hinde and I've a 52 t on my old Lava Dome with an LX front derailler ...srugs shoulders.

Someone must have fitted something bigger than 46 t on one of these???
