Just stumbled on this site, how incredible! All the things I loved about bikes in the 90s still exist!

Anyway, I could do with a hand...

Im building up a 97 orange P7 with a set of ancient Pace RC35s... I have a set of new elastomers but does anyone know what order they fit in the fork??? Theres two big ones and a small one...

Just waiting on a 1" Chris King headset and my NOS gripshift Xrays and we will be building!!!

Many Thanks

I cant remember im affraid..and im not stripping them down to find out :P

If you speak to justbackdated on these forums he will be able to help...he is the Pace God!

two big uns in the carbon lowers
two smaller ones are top out elastomers and go up into the hollow dropouts from below! FORK REBUILD.... DONE! :D

Depending on age the guide rods will either be attached to the stanchions and the elastomer is held in with a washer and bolt or it will have a rod that go's in from the bottom with a shoulder built into it!

You undo the fork by unscrewing a 4mm allen bolt underneath, this has a circlip and plastic shoulder on it, so I reckon this is where the little elastomer goes??

Im restoring it and there was no elastomer there to start with, but this all makes sense now.

Cheers!

Thats the one, perfect! when my stendec grease gets here it'll be sorted... I think it may be a tad soft tho - pace could only supply medium elastomers, still all will be revealed in a week or so !
