P2s

Long shot as these seem to be rare but looking for a set of triple butted P2s in 1/8th aheadset guise to finish off my Kona

Would consider single butted if the price/condition is good though

P2s first came out with ahead steerers in 1997, when they were gunmetal grey and the problem is that only one bike had triple-butted as standard, the Kilauea. I think the were an option on the Cinder Cone, but the Lava Dome had pg P2s. Then by 98 (when they were black), no bike had triple-butted P2s as standard, although they were an option on the Cinder Cone and Caldera I think. However tb P2s were sold in decent numbers as aftermarket upgrades (often fitted to makes other than Kona), so they might make up the bulk of what you can find on eBay.

With all that in mind, I think if you are patient in watching eBay, you will find plain gauge P2s reasonably plentiful, especially if black is ok. Triple-butted I agree is rarer, but not all that rare I don't think.

What length steerer do you need?
Need steerer to fit an 18 inch Hei Hei, if you have some I can measure the length up to check
Kona cut ahead steerers c8cm longer than the head tube, but you can get away with as little as 7cm. I think the head tube of a 1993 size 18 Hei Hei is 12cm, but it might be 11cm. I'm not sure if it was 93 or 94 that they went from 12cm to 11.

P2's

Was in a local bike shop yesterday and I think the guy mentioned he had some triple butted P2's for about £80. If you want to follow up it was Sydney Street Cycles in Brighton
