P2 29ER FORKS?? ON A 91 CINDER CONE....?

I use them all the time, and always keep a spare in the parts bin...

...you can pick up some cheap decent forks that way 8)

PS: "A rule of thumb is a 10mm change in fork length gives a half degree change in the head angle" - hardly earth moving

I agree with Stevo-try it-you might like it! Here's a pic of Charlie Cunningham and me from a few years ago publicizing the OWMTBC. His daily rider in the pic. is one of his older frames, originally designed for 26 inch wheels-now sports a longer fork and 29 inch wheel and tire. He says he likes how it handles.

Your frame is built for a 39cm a-c P2, so even a 94-onwards 41cm a-c P2 would slacken off the head angle. The a-c of the 700c/29er P2 that Chain Reaction are selling is somehow quoted at only 40cm

That's the 700c road fork. The 29er mtb fork has an A2C of 465mm ( http://www.bikeman.com/store/merchant.m ... gory_Code= ) so it would only be 75mm (or nearly 4 head tube degrees) longer than the original fork, well within the original designers tolerances I reckon.

Here's a cool little calculator that shows the approx impact on the bike of the fork length:

Or do as Pat says and get Charlie Cunningham to custom build you a set of forks and build you a 29er wheel. I hear his time is cheap and his turnaround is quick!
