"Outing" Ebay auctions

If I found a Ritchey, wrongly and obscurely listed I would know for a fact that a minimum of 1 other retrobiker has also found it.

So if I know this and I am not going to bid maybe I should leave it to him rather than tell everyone else.

Depends how badly you want/need it??

There's a thread on here elsewhere detailing how long people have been waiting for stuff...

True, and some may tell you in those circumstances if known I will pm them and highlight it rather than out it.

But it does seem people would rather know :D

Agreed,

Which is so much better than outing something with a 'who got this bargain' messaged attached when it's ended.

Thats the point I was trying to make Pete.

If I found a Ritchey, wrongly and obscurely listed I would know for a fact that a minimum of 1 other retrobiker has also found it.

So if I know this and I am not going to bid maybe I should leave it to him rather than tell everyone else.

That was my old rationale anyway, merely trying to help people save a few quid.

As most feel it's better to out such a find then I won't have any qualms about doing so. :D

The way I see it there are a lot of dealers buying and scouring e-bay for these 'bargains' (12-28 for example)
Who buy up the cheap bits and part out or resell with a better description (what I believe some call flipping ?). I'd rather the original seller get the money and other here get a chance are buying a part than a dealer.
BUT I'll also add, if I know somebody is after a part/bike then I would email them the link privately to see if they wanted it.
