went into town this morning to post some stuff and fell on thick ice. now i have been home for a while i ache a bit and have a nice bruise on my knee.
OUCH!
i hate this weather.

Hasn't got me yet but I know it will and then I'll go down like a sack of potatoes on an old wooden deckchair :(

Got me last winter big style, spread eagled on the pavement, I'm sure my dog was sniggering

i did not stand a chance,BANG! down i went, worst bit was sliding down the gentle slope that leads to the bridge i was trying to cross and dragging myself back onto my feet.
bruise is a nice shade of purple now, retrobruise.co.uk anyone?

I went over walking down hill to my house last week.......vertical to horizontal in 1/10 of a second job!.......an elderly gent on a walking stick crossed the road to see if I was ok, I had to laugh at the irony!......

I've had a couple of bad spills on ice,now i hold the bars straight as a rod.Travel only in straight lines

My wife got me a pair of these http://www.yaktrax.co.uk/ when the first lot of snow came... they are fantastic! They do wear out fairly quickly if you use them a lot / run with them, especially if you walk on non-icy surfaces - but for 16 quid, well worth it.

Helped keep me sane since I'm not going anywhere on the bike until this lot clears up - regret not having invested in spiked tyres now!
