Orphan parts....

How about a sticky thread with just the names of orphaned parts?

Say if someone has a Mavic 217 in 32H gold, they just make a post and you can contact them to say you'd either like to buy it or sell them the match?

That way you could just use the search function to search that thread for the part you have.

Could have a completely separate section of the forum, which might work best.

Similar to 'Wanted' in a way.

Then as DrR suggests, post up what you have, and people contact to offer swaps / buys / love etc.

However, I think it would have to be done (no idea if this can be done easily, other than by instant modding) so that each post is automatically locked.

Otherwise the whole section will fill up with crap and people telling life stories of how they remember so-and-so part from BITD and wasn't it amazing when they came spec'd standard on their old Emelle RoughRider MkXI...


Would need to be done in a specific format too so that it'd be easy to simply scroll down a page without loads and loads of chaff. Standard format layout stylee...

Hold on. Yeah I agree. Nothing but parts description and pictures. No comments, if you want it or whatever, pm the poster. Only the posted (and mods obv) should be able to edit the post e.g. to add pictures.
