Original Trek Y22 Naked Carbon for sale NOW SOLD

MRBET

Retro Newbie
Hi,

NOW SOLD

Here is my Trek Y22 bike that I've owned since new, It has had very little use over the years and is totally original from when i purchased it. Even has the original tyres (which are currently punctured) and handle bar grips.

It's in very good condition with a few age related marks on the frame, but nothing serious.

Any questions please ask.

I'm looking for £400.

Video on youtube.

That's a beauty, and welcome to the forum :)

Unfortunately, we're banned from commenting on pricing. However you might do well to take a look for similar bikes which have been up for sale, and base your price on that.

Example: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=181256

Also, with a bike like this it might be worth you splitting it, and selling the parts separately. You'll have a much better chance of getting a decent price for it all then.

Good luck with the sale anyway :)

There you go, you're halfway there if you decided to split!

I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem finding buyers for the rest of the kit either :)

Thanks but i wouldn't know where to start taking it to pieces.

Surely it must be worth more as an original bike than the sum of its parts?

I think it would be a shame to split an original bike up. All the equipment on it must be way out of date. The bike was bought in 1995/1996. I know it was cutting edge for the time. but 17 years on their must be brand new, cheaper more advanced parts for sale.

A few more pictures.

Nope. These things almost always work out better for the seller when splitting.
If willing to drop your price in line with previous sold equivalents then id be keen to buy, failing that, if you split then ill have the forks and tyres please!

whereabouts are you based?

splitting the bike down almost entirely should be possible with a simple 5mm allen key.

 Posting a for sale ad on a site celebrating old bikes and not quite understanding that the site celebrates old bikes.

Good luck with the sale!
