Original Manitou Fork Strip

I've just picked up a set of original Answer Manitou 1's. Great condition – just need a bit of polishing before they go on the Wicked (when it gets here )

However, before I go at it like a bull in a china shop, does anyone know how these things come apart? It can't be too tricky (they're only rubber bumper forks after all).

Usually I'd just undo every bolt I can find until they fall apart in my hands, but these are too nice to do that with :?

If they are like my 2. It takes the long 5mm allen to get the lowers off (through the caps), and deal with the bumpers.

That simple eh? Figured there would be a few more steps to it than that

Will a socket extension with 5mm allen key end be OK?
