Original Klein decals?

I got offered this frameset. Unfortunetly, no MC1 combo with the frame, does come with the rubber seal for the top of the headset.

Anybody know if this is an original color, and if the logo's are original?

How hard is it to find a MC1 bar/stem combo for these bikes?

i do not know if a MC1 is hard to find but i think you will find one through ebay,.
and the reaction on the wundel site; i think i would take the chance,..i do not think you can decide this based on 1 reaction, you never know the complete story,....

yep, original backfire. seems to be in nice condition.

MC1s are out there, not too difficult to find. can be expensive though, up to 200e. most expensive are the 135mm no-rise cause they look nicest. specific colors sometimes go higher. but you may get one cheaper (if that's an issue at all) in a private sale.

i don't recall having seen one for sale in the backfire yellow color though. but it shouldnt be too difficult to match that color. repro stem logos are on ebay, included in the full Attitude decal sets.

that's a 19" (Small) btw.

make sure that the top bearing rubber cap is indeed included, those are really hard to find.

That's really nice and it's with a welded "boxy" fork too!

When I worked in a LBS back in the day, a co-worker had a similar one with unicrown fork and full XT M735 parts spec.

MC1s can sometimes be found for under 100€ on eBay (although I paid $450 for a NOS Coral Reef one for my Adept :evil: ).

Id have a spare mission control soon but it would need to be painted.

regarding Thilo's reaction on wundel.com go to Belgium and pick it up in person! That way you make sure that you really get the frame!

Thilo is a nice feller, so something serious has happend to cause that reaction!
