Orange X1

Well I'm no human weighing scale but I reckon this one is way under that. I'll try to see if I can do a weight check too and post that in the gallery with the pic's

Baby blue

:D looking forward to seeing those pics. it looks nice in 'baby blue'!

So is the strata shock the entry level shock on this bike?
Is there a upgrade shock that will fit on this bike?

there was a more basic shock I think (have a look at the brochure elsewhere on this site to check), then the stratashock you have there then the one I have which had the remote lockout. Most shocks should fit this with the correct bushes. I think 165mm eye to eye is what's needed but I currently have a Noleen NR2 which I think is 190mm giving en extra bit of travel.

here's the link to the brochure:

here's what they say about the shock options:

X1 Shock Options
The Dyna Mount is a budget priced
shock, steel sprung and oil damped, custom tuned
to our specifications, it performs well as an all
round unit capable of cross-country or downhill.
The Stratos A.N.A. is an air/oil unit with
preload, compression and rebound
adjustment, a light, high performance
versatile shock unit. It is an exceptional
performer over all terrain, whether
cross-country or downhill.
The Fox ALPS 4 is suited to the hardcore
downhiller, this popular unit with its tough
robust air/oil technology has a well-proven
record at the highest levels of competition. Widely
used on the downhill scene, the Fox is at the upper
end of the price scale.
We initially thought that these three units would
cover all your needs, that is until we received the
I.C.D. (Interactive Control Damping) shocker from
Stratos.
The Stratos I.C.D. unit allows you to alter the
rebound and compression damping from a simple
handlebar mounted control, while you are riding
(‘on the fly’), instantly giving the performance
characteristics you want. The unit can be ‘locked
out’ to give a totally solid feel or set up anywhere
between rigid and fully active. The X1 frame will
be available with special bosses to carry the
additional cable needed to fit this unit.
With four units to choose from, you can
be sure of finding exactly the right
unit to suit your needs.

My 'baby blue' X1 is the original paint as far as I can tell. I haven't seen another that colour, but there was one on Ebay earlier this year in a darker shade.

The Stratos A.N.A. shock on mine is red anodised - most I have seen are plain silver. The shock has no lockout. It is unbelivably lightweight. We had to take mine out and get it reconditioned as the barrel got slightly scored and it was leaking oil. Cost rather a lot of money (£120) to get this done.

have you seen the dark blue metalic with white rear triangle Orange X1 one on ebay this morning? Its got about six days to go.
