Orange X1

Kinda cobbled together with random bits (cheap, leftovers or freebies mostly) but here's my X1 - still a work in progress but I should be getting the missing chain, cassette and cables this week (most of the current cables are mock-ups to see how they run!).

I make no apologies for the fact it's not period correct, I'm afraid it's built with what I can get my hands on! However I'm very pleased so far, it's really rather light for what it is and excited to get it finished. I tend to do quite a few miles at the moment and while it's (obviously) not destined to be my commuting tool it'll definitely get used - Afan is a favourite and I'm hoping it'll be ideal for the Isle of Man 'End to End' later in the year!

I like the black rear triangle - is that a respray as I don't recall it being a standard colour? Mine's orange. I am getting closer to rebuilding mine...

Mine's also meant to be orange - it's a respray. It came like that, and also with the XTR decals which aren't entirely to my taste!

A mate had one and snapped it. Orange replaced it though.

They did an aluminium version too didn't they?

The aluminium version was the X 2 i have recently got hold of one , i haven't seen any on here yet . The down tube is straight and box section rather than the bent one like the X 1 but otherwise looks fairly similar .
