Nice. Was that Tall Pauls?

The mostly straight up M900 build works well. All I'd say is bin that flexystem.

i knew someone would say it!!! it solved 2 problems though, getting a 1" stem i liked and was suitable and it has a cable hanger. if i can find a stem i like then i have an x-lite ti bar for it. and yes it was tallpauls before.

coomber, sinnett, fingers, thanks very much, just gotta see how it rides tomorrow!! :D

I've a silver Control Tech in an inch and, I think, a silver Syncros if that's any help. Both NOS.

Yup, Im liking that a lot, a very clean looking build & I actually like the flexstem on there

Did you get a reply to your e-mail & therefor find out where the frame was manufactured ? 8)

Gc

no, no reply, think they come out of the same factory as the modern charge bikes, meaning taiwan, but i'm not sure.

Defo manufactured in Taiwan. Not sure I've ever read exactly who was the builder, but somewhere there is an article where the process of selecting the manufacturer was discussed.

yeah, taiwan definitely.

i know orange currently use the kinesis factory for aluminium (evo and g2/3) and i know they use the same facory as charge use for steel meaning 07 clockworks etc, and that factory makes ti frames for charge in batches of 25. even though its 14 years on most companies stick with what they know, so i know that factory does small batches, so i think it is reasonable to assume the partnership with that factory goes back a long way.

i don't use this bike much, which is a shame, but the reason i don't use has just been solved! :D

basically the bar was too narrow! it had a titanium bar stem combo flexstem on it, which i know is not to everyone's taste but honestly i think they are ok, the reason i originally used it was that it solved the problem of getting a 1" stem, solved the canti hanger issue for the front brake and was also titanium which kept the Ti theme going.

i decided though that i should start using this bike more which meant sorting the bar width issue which meant replacing the flex stem assembly, i had managed also to find a 1 inch ahead steerer to replace the threaded steerer and also found a ritchey stem in 1" ahead so all i needed was an ahead set, as usual the wanted section played it's part and next thing i knew i had a silver king headset ready to fit.

also the middleburns died, so they have been replaced with a newer set, also with slightly smaller sized rings which i think will be better.

i am really pleased with the changes on i am gonna give it a spanking at the Erlestoke 6 hour enduro on salisbury plain 8)

anyway here's a few update pics :D
