1994 Orange VIT T2. Got this recently. Not been a smooth ride! Had a crack in seat tube & had issues with some of the mainly Suntour groupset. Plus it was set up as a 1x & I wanted 3x. That gave me the opportunity to use my partners old Girvin crank/chainset off her old Proflex. I got the seat tube welded up locally & decided to chuck some Shimano XT on it & fit Pace forks & Mavic Sunset rims. In the end I only kept the stem, grips, (new) BB, seatpost, clamp & saddle & the headset, which has a little life still in it. Bars & levers also needed as they were missing. The old wheels & original forks I may keep but the rest will be sold on. I'll also keep the original forks. I'm sure it was sold in good faith & I got some money back from the seller but I'll not buy Ti unseen again. Bit of a mix-up of XT on the groupset but I'm happy with the look. Unless a frame is mint or repainted I make less of an effort for catalogue accuracy. Saddle yet to be tested so only provisional at present. Going to get some mud on it tomorrow.

Re:

Really like that!

Got a few scars of my own after having my left ankle rebuilt!

Nowt to be worried about. Adds character to a lively build ;)

Thanks! Aye - got some Ti & SS in my right foot & new ankle going in end of the year hopefully. I'm in a worse state than the bike but still going! :)

Thought another colour wouldn't look out of place! Some nicely faded gold Orange Ram Rod bars & purple Controltech lock-on skewers.

Aye, I know. I've a stack of them on hand. A few years back when my choice of old Oranges to commute on & ride was more limited I was reluctant to put a high end cassette on a high mileage bike. I may treat the low mileage ones to more appropriate cassettes in the future.

Re:

Another nice Orange and even I with my OCD don’t mind the ‘scar’....
I have a few myself and they are characterful!

I second the cassette.

Loving the bling
