*Orange Prestige*

Thanks for all the info guys, some good stuff there.

The bike isn't going to arrive until mid week by which time I will be 10,000 miles away so the build won't start until April which gives me time to source some bits.

By the way I paid £70 for the frame, is that about the going rate? I felt it was a fair price.

Now who was selling those hoy rod bars?

Very nice frames these,, and a good price..:) look forward to seeing the completed build.. :)

BTW.. Ishaw was selling a set of hot rod bars fella.. ;)

1" Headset, there were some Kona Project 2s last night in the FS section, see if they are still there. good alternative arguably a bit wrong ???
Mine takes a 27.2 seat post but worth double checking as there could always be spec changes.
Will be adding to my build thread soon, bout time I think its been about 3 years! :o

Have a look at my Prestige in my sig. It was a 92/93 19inch and I went through a range of different forks on it. OE, RC30 and RC35. You'll get a good idea of what works from that. Went through a range of stems too. Sadly I've sold it now but it was a nice rider and I enjoyed trying to get it as close to period correct as possible. Enjoy your build.

Wow some nice pics there fella. Its given me some food for thought.

I'm now more keen than ever for the bike to wear some RC30's.

Bike should arrive today/tomorrow but I won't get to see it for 5 weeks as i'm away with work.

Looking forward to this more than I was my P7 :D

Well a bit of an update on the prestige. It's now unpacked and it's in a bit of a sorry state but not beyond repair. It looks straight and internally not much rust at all. There are a few dings here and there and the bb is shot but that's ok. Now the bike was originally bought from leisure lakes, the sticker is still present. So it's gonna be of to bob jacksons soon for a full respray in the coming weeks and the build will begin. Pics to follow in a day or so

Aye, it does sound uncannily like the frame I had and subsequently sold.
I bought the frame from Leisure Lakes in Bury in maybe 94' as it was a cheap deal being a "last years" frame model, iirc I also got the RC30's from there along with the frame.

looks like it Jimo, I will take some pics at the weekend.

You will be pleased to know that the oranges on the chainstay are in pretty good nick by comparison to the rest of the frame.

Did you add a Pace sticker to the top of the seat stay wishbone too? there are remains of such a sticker....
