Orange p7

Hi there , I have got a orange p7,frame no indicates 1996 just wondering if any body knows what the original crankset would have been the rest of the bike has Deore lx but the tripple crankset fitted is a pace with middleburn cranks, regards Pete

I'd imagine it would have had the lx cranks but middleburn with pace rings is a decent upgrade imho.

There is probably a catalogue in the archives on here that will confirm the original spec.

from the '97 catalogue which apply to a lot of frames manufactured in '96

Thanks for help with crankset another question have had bike for a couple of years just decided to try and get it back to original , at the moment it has pace rc30 rigged forks don't think it would have come with them ,but are the original forks still obtainable and are they frame specific, regarding size etc I believe the frame I have is a 22 inch so large I would say, also size of steerer threaded not threaded inch inch 1/8 all a bit complicated if you are not shore what you are doing any advice would be appreciated ,thanks

The orange F7 forks do look really nice in a p7 , there was an f9 as well I believe but the f7s look better .
F7s do come up for sale quite often it's just getting the set that will fit .
You've just got to measure the steerer length on your pace forks and the diameter.

Orange bikes generally came with whatever you wanted to spec...

The catalogue bikes would be F7 forks as they came out with the P7, it would have Orange SK8 Stem Hot rod bars, lite stalk seatpost orange saddle.

But like I say when ordering you could spec whatever you wanted. So it might well have been specced with the pace forks and middleburn crank from new, they were pretty common upgrades at the time.
