From what I understand the P7 is made from series 8 micro butted tubes which are slightly larger in diameter leading to a stronger frame. The C16r is the old clockwork frame which is double butted, about the same weight but not as strong. The P7 was the first incarnation of the do it all hardcore steel trail bike - but it still weighs next to nothing.
