Orange P7 1995

Re: Orange P7 (1995, I think... TBC)

It looks identical to my '95 P7. While the 'official' one has no canti hanger, mine does, just like yours. Seatpost is 29.4/29.6 with a shim to 26.4 for the nickel plated steel post.

BTW, that nickel post is LIGHT, lighter than most carbon fibre ones...I've tried.

Just checked in the garage, I needed a 29.8 shim to get the 27/2 carbon post to clamp OK. Then I went back to the Orange post as it was lighter.

Really? Oh wow, I’m going to need a total of 4mm of shim to use the USE. Hmmm....

In other news, the lower headset cup was really corroded. In picture it just looks dirty but the rust was thick. Now resprayed...

Re:

Also needed a little more than cleaning, with some touch up paint, but this one was pretty easy to make it look nearly new

Re: Orange P7 (1995, I think... TBC)

Lot of work completed today which I’ll add soon. Just wanted to say though that the hubs cleaned up perfectly. Which means I now have 4 Deore LX M56x hubs across this and the KHS that are a total of 104 years old between them and not one mark or scratch. I mean literally mint, all four. What did they make/paint these things from/with, the same stuff they make aeroplane blackboxes from  ??

...and a few sprigs of rosemary, then bring to the boil for forty minutes. A side salad of fresh spokes and scattered nipples. MMM lunch. Crunchy.

Re:

Well avoided eating them and they are starting to look pretty nice. Was going to spray black but with doubts over the ability of a home sprayed pedal to withstand use I might leave them steel silver

Replaced and repacked the bearings. Cleaned and replaced the free hub...
