I am v slowly rebuilding a 92 clockwork & was wondering if anyone has
put track ends on one as I want the lines to be as clean as possible

Cheers

It could certainly be done, but another option is an eccentric bottom bracket converter - have a read of this mtbr thread......

The Forward Components version is cheaper than the Exzentriker, but they both do the same job. Neither are cheap, but you don't have to pay for any frame modifications, you can easily go back to a geared set-up (if you leave the cable stops on the frame) and you have the fast, easy wheel removal with vertical dropouts. I use the Exzentriker and can recommend it without reservation.

And either would certainly look clean enough too, especially if you remove the cable stops 8) . There's a BB closeup in the linked thread I think.

Have you just tried building it without any adjustment ?, it can work if you are lucky with chainstay length and gear selection.

This is my E3 with standard Shimano BB and chain using a 32 front ring and 16 cog, has 16.5 chainstays measured from the BB axle to the drop out.

I will get around to cutting the bolt hole off the mech hanger.

Got a P7 with semi horizontal dropouts (was supposed to have track ends but that's another story....). An old photo but think that it looks really clean and has worked well for me with no slipping wheel.
