It is a sad day as I am needing to sell my Slime Green Orange Clockwork. I purchased it new in September 1999 from MacLaines in Wolverhampton, used it for about 3 months, then unexpectedly moved to Australia for a few years. The bike sat in storage until around 2 years ago when I started using it again.
It is in great condition and still has all the original parts that I specced it out with when in the shop. This bike is amazingly light and the frame really responsive. I think it is in great condition for its age. There are a couple of small scrapes (the worst to the paint on either sides of the rear quick release lever which I have tried to show in the picures) however there are no dents or frame damage (I can honestly say the bike has never been crashed!). The tyres will probably need replacing at some point (as they are original. They still have loads of grip but I can't vouch for the quality of the rubber after 11 years). The 'Clockwork' stickers have also worn/moved a bit.
It was serviced recently and runs really well. I haven't changed it much since buying it from the shop apart from adding the XLite handlebars and the V12 pedals.
Full details of the bike are:
Model Year 1999
Frame Chromoly 7.5 Butted Tubes
Colour Slime Green
Fork RockShox Indy SL
Shifters Shimano STX-RC 21 speed
Rear Mech Shimano STX-RC
Front Mech Shimano Alivio
Brakes Avid 10 V-Brakes with Avid AD-1.DL Levers
Pedals DMR V12
Cranks Shimano Alivio
Wheelset Mavic X221
Hubs Parallax
Tyres WTB - VelociRaptor
Handlebar X-Lite X Country Bars
Stem Orange
Headset Modus
Grips Orange - Friction Addiction
Seatpost Orange
Saddle Orange - Branded
This bike is a retro classic with a great ChroMo frame. I would like £230 for it with the V12 pedals or £210 without. Please feel free to ask me any questions.
