Orange c16 project

Ok, so I'm having my resprayed Orange c16 frame and fork back next monday after being resprayed by Bob Jackson. Was originally green but I have done it in orange with black transfers.
Now my dilemma is this. I have got mostly shimano 1990's xt components but the crankset is a modern stronglight triple. Very nice but I'm not sure if I want this. I'm looking round for an xt chainset but cant decide which way to go. Do I stick my stronglight on to see how it looks. What would you guys do?

No advantage using a modern chainset, I'd probably just buy XT crank arms (M737 are the pick of the era IMO) and some new chainrings to fit (bargains to be had online) - basically a new chainset done on the cheap

I'm looking for mint condition xt cranks in silver. Been offered black ones but they seem to show every scratch. Stupid prices on some of this stuff. Saying that I've spent a lot to date. Wasted money on the stronglight chainset and BB although if I sell this I might get an xt. I'm in no rush to build the frame. just build as I go along. Got plenty of parts I can build on anyway.
