I have a (1993) Orange Alu Elite with a 1 1/4 headtube size, 31.4 seat-tube/seat-post size and (thankfully) a standard 68mm bottom bracket shell. I would like to fit my (2007) RockShox Reba SL 100mm fork to the frame and try a threadless headset/stem combo instead of the old quill stem. I am finding it hard to find a 1 1/4 reducer headset that can accept the current standard size 1 1/8 steerer of most forks. Anyone got any advice or experience in this matter they could share?

Reducers

Thanks Dave - I already have a set of these as a last resort. I've been told it would be better to use a proper reducer headset as opposed to reducer shims. The problem is that only Chris King's NoThreadSet Devolution appears to be the answer but all my enquiries so far have found that the Chris King is actually a 1.5 to 1 1/8 in the UK?

you can order any king combination your mind can imagine from Aspire Velotech online

It's wasn't the headset thing that struck me, quite a few people have done it here.

But 100mm forks on a 1993 pre-suspension geometry bike did strick me as er interesting.
Each to their own though.

But why not the reducers, what is wrong with them?
