curious to be reminded what these were called, if anyone has pic's or catalogue scans. I am referring to the one that could be adjusted without tools, a sort of twist mechanism near the top of the post. Seen them in silver and black, no luck searching on here so far.

Rigor Mortis ?

no those needed tools. I have one of the no tools one but cannot remember what it's called.

It be called Rigor Mortis still.
turn the star thing/quick release style bolt depending on year on the top, then use it's Quick Release thing to tighten/release it in future.

The look changed a little through the years.

the Onza seatpost I have is completely different than that. It screws onto the top and uses no tools.

maybe called the NADS?

I had one on my Cannondale which I sold a while back before I joined RB. You are right, no tools required, you turned the saddle which tightened the clamp. Cannot remember what they were called though.

There has been a fair few of that style sold on here, must be a modern style as I do not remember it. Modern could well be late 90's though

Inigo had a a set of them some time back, but they look like they have a bolt in the (the black one anyway, and the Lite mentions a fixing bolt missing.

Just called it PRO

so I believe it came around '97 made them called PRO and Lite and teh design was by NADS and Onza licensed it/bought them out/re-branded them from NADS. They where not actually called NADS (the Onza ones).

I had the DH Stout model! nothing to do with my rad riding style more to do with my expanding waistline and habit of bending lightweight posts.

i brought daves post a few weeks back on the packet it just says "the onza seat post" and "three ripping onza seatposts mobels The Lite, Pro and Stout i think mattythemods got a 98 caturlog with them in i borrowed last week with the full onza range in 8)
