i am thinking of sticking a pair on my aplinestar, how do you guys rate them or should i go for newer rubber?

i dont ride that hard now i am getting older so they dont need to be cutting edge.

cheers

stubbsy :D

i like them
they can be a bit hard to fit to some rims tho

depends what terrain you ride , its kinda loamy forest / peaty trails
round here and they work well ,do wear quick
the other tyres i use are wtb raptors , these are a retro tyre tread
and still available new today tho not in skin wall sadly ,but then the
porc's are blackwall
run them hard 45/50 psi

Hi stubsy.....they are good tyres in general and great in mud, just keep them off the road as they squirm like a cornered politician.....

agree with the road comments, but i find them dire in mud.
wet muddy/boggy conditions = rear wheel spinning wildly, almost 0 traction.
damp - dry conditions = great grip and traction.

but this is just my oppinion. :P

i know its not good but they make a lovely noise on tarmac, vrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

LMAO!!! i could not agree more, there is no better sounding tyre on tarmac :P

They do make a lovely noise on Tarmac, and then a mie down the road they sound like slicks, as they've worn out...

I always found them really grippy off-road, better than most of the others of the day, but just the wear issues put me off buying a 2nd set BITD.
