Onza H.O. Ti pedals… any good?

as you can see, the blue came instead in the pedals. how often do they wear out and need replacing?

They don't really wear out, they do get squashed, but never been a problem. You can in fact sandwich anything you like in there just stick some holes in it.

Instructions are easy, what you see is what you have, two bolt on the front/back hold the cleat locking plate that holds the elastomer there.

That's about it really.

I think I used blue most of the time, which was always a problem for me... as it clashed with the red and yellow of the frame

EDIT found them, so Onza archive section now created
I think somebody posted them up at some point.

Man... I have a knack for buying parts out of the blue, logging on to Retrobike, and finding a topic on the very item I just bought, right on the first page of the chat section.

I just bought a pair of these-I'm assuming they have standard spindles as the seller didn't mention Ti. I'm curious as to what era these were offered? Well timed thread, thanks.....

Well MOMBAT has 1994 as their first mention, though as I got 737 in 91/2 and moved to Onza fairly quickly from memory it should have been earlier say around 1992 or 1993
Mid around these date for a while after. No idea when they where phased out, probably when Onza went down the pan.

I still use my ti Onza HOs daily  :)

They're not as good as modern spuds, but they're still quite light and simple and I think they look good.

They do pop out unexpectedly at times, and sometimes get a bit stuck. I'm so used to it after 16 years that I'm surprised when my modern pedals work!

Thank you kind sir! I checked on MOMBAT but must have missed it.

I love the onza pedals... i havnt found any real problems with them.... yer they arnt as good as modern clipless pedals but thats obvious !!
ive actually got a ti set for sale a load of spare parts... a complete overhaul service kit and a couple of sets of onza cleats ( one lightly used and one NOS) all for sale if you need any parts... :D

also you can adapt wellgo cleats to fit these pedals... you need to file the sides off them to get them to release... ive never done this but there is a thread on here somewhere with picws showing how to do it...

thanks for the offer, but your spares cost more than i paid for the pedals, including shipping!

think these will be a "use then throw away" part for me.
