You're gonna need a very sturdy amp to drive them despite what some people say, -or else it might be a case of 'the tail wagging the dog'!

They're meant to sound very good though, but I haven't heard 'em myself.
-If you're in the market for that level of speaker there's loads of choice.

I heard one of there 'cheaper' models BITD at my local dealer. And the music was perfect. BITD they cost over £10,000 but worth every penny. If i didn't keep moving home. I'd love to buy such kit again. It's a big shame they were killed off by a court case over a patent :evil:

yeah, at 150 lbs each they're not exactly portable. :shock:

Interesting technology for sure.. -modern ribbon tweeters can sound lovely if you can get them to integrate with the other drivers -no such worries here. Didn't they have a habit of blowing amps up BITD, with their challenging impedance?

Yes the scintilla had a ONE ohm and weighed 180lbs each land of the mighty Krell. I think at the very best the easy models had a hard working 4 ohm the basic 'stage' at £2500
