Well this popped up: local, my size and a bargain. Always wanted to try fixed (since reading Sheldon on it - not because I'm a hipster! Not that there's anything wrong with that...)
Finally got round to flipping the wheel and trying it out fixed - bloody hell it's difficult!
Much more than I thought. Doesn't help that my knee's a bit sore from lots of steep climbs with panniers full of camping gear last week.
Think I'll wait til my knee's better then take a few gentle rides along the seafront to get used to it. Should be fun!
It's 5 years old but has clearly had an easy life. Not that different from (my usual) 90s mtb - db cromo frame. I like the segmented seatstays.
