refuse point blank to get involved with facebook but this is possibly the one thing to change my mind. Staggering collection, part of me says shame that all those frames aren't getting built up. What's the craic with the collection - personal or is it a musuem somewhere?

Marc! Facebook isn't just about chatting and arguing mate! There are many pages for cycling related stuff
from sales of retro bike stuff to chaps in Australia who show off their bikes, I even have a page which is about
making models! You know the plastic things you bang together with glue & paint but my fav' page is called
80's cycling remembered, there are 4,000 members on there and all contribute by showing personal pictures
of their racing careers and the best thing on the page you can chat to Sean Kelly or even Paul Sherwen! How cool is that.

I bet there are a few on here mate who collect shelf queens and never ride them!
My mate is like this and must have spent over £50,000 in collecting and restoring
bikes for them never to see day-light again, very shameful indeed.

The collection does seem a little indiscriminate, like the gent was just buying anything high end he could put his hands on. Usually when one starts to collect on this level there is a refinement process, a focusing on what really inspires the individual. Maybe this is a money making scheme since prices were a bit soft during the recent recession. Buy up a huge collection and then release them one by one once people have money again.

ian - I'll concede that it may have it uses for proper stuff, but the diatribe i'd probably like to type is for a completely different place  A chat with Sean Kelly would be mint - he kills me with the old commentary on Eurosport. Legend.
