How much would it hurt to chop a finger off with a machete?

I smacked myself in the knuckle of my left index finger with a small chopper (meat cleaver :roll: ) hacking up some venison for the dogs and that stung a little..
Wife reckons if I'd been brandishing my usual weapon (the aforementioned machete) the index finger of my left hand would be somewhat shorter and the pain would have been significantly more.

a bloke at work recently accidentally sliced his index finger open on a large glass syringe (working in a lab like me) barely bled, he didn't seem in a lot of pain but he sliced a tendon open and is having 3 months off work as a result.

My mate lost his finger in a bike accident. Didn't realise till he took his glove off and it fell out.
I'd say it doesn't hurt tom much

Yeah I've had some big hits, near death stuff and that.. none of it hurt as much as you'd think (if you spent much time thinking about smashing up bits of your anatomy, that is)...

Bet lopping off a toe would hurt more than a finger.
