Do you think the packaging on this crankset is a wee bit excessive ? Or could I have used more tape

It's OK, just a joke for SimonFreese (and anyone else) I'll let Simon explain the joke. It's OK Simon, I did remember your address, just removed it for this pic

On it's way in the morning my friend, so make sure the letterbox is big enough. Yours Laz

So here's the story...

I placed a wanted thread for a crank for my Raleigh Record Sprint, Laz came to the rescue with a very attractive offer. During numerous PM's, Laz asked me what else I needed. When I mentioned that the bike wasn't going anywhere fast without wheels, Laz said that he had a pair of wheels that were 'about to become frisbees' and that I was welcome to them!

On closer inspection Laz found that the wheels were shot. This would be the end of the story if it involved mere mortals, but Laz is possesed with super human powers of kindness and determination, and set about rebuilding the wheels spoke by spoke.

So the little cardboard box containing a crank turned in to a big cardboard box! And I also need to mention all the other bits that Laz has sorted out for me, BB, pedals, everything that I need to get this bike up and running again. Needless to say I am very very grateful, and really looking forward to getting this build complete.

So Laz is a top bloke, and those who have dealt with him will already know this, it is great that such kind acts go on amongst the people on this forum, and I hope to join in with this myself in the future..

Hope your luck turns soon Laz!

You are the MD of Chain Reaction Cycles, and I claim my £5. ;)

Good to see you're keeping your chin up in spite of all the rotten stuff that's come your way of late though. :)

Hi Simon :-) "You flatter me my friend  " Tis just some items to help your project along. I think it is the brake blocks that pushed the box size up LOL.

You take care, and enjoy the bike builders lego kit, "you are a decent man yourself, ... polite, humble, courteous, "you more than deserve a break buddy" :-) All the best to you & the family, yours Laz.

nice one laz. just goes to show there isnt any justice in the world when the good people get the shite thrown at them

On it's way Simon, should be there by the morning (perhaps before you read this) It's been a pleasure buddy :-)

Hi Lewis :-) "That may be true my friend, but I have here, and us guys have each other to talk to ... what's he got ?" We smile despite them. It annoys bums like this no end when I refuse to "let them get at me" and I keep smiling instead. In truth I pity such people, after all he'll have to go an awful lot further before he matches what I've already been through.

My best to you, and keep smiling my friend, yours Laz.

Looking forward to it Laz!

At work at the moment, will let you know when they arrive...

Nice to hear your spirit is strong!
