Olympic Fever..

Tonight I had my first pang of fever, after watching Cavendish being interviewed..

Last Sunday I rode some of the road race route, and saw lots of signs in place, again, bringing it home..

It's only four weeks to go! I just went from mildly cynical, to excited.

What a pleasant surprise!

I'm not sure, I watched quite a bit of the last olympics, a lot of the cycling but just don't feel that enthusiastic this year

I had tickets offered, but have decided to thumb my nose at it all.

Lots of reasons, but the way it has evolved into a MacDonald's campaign turns us off completely.

im trying not to get bogged down on the politics/organisations and try to enjoy it for its essence.. an Olympics on home soil.

My sporting mind has many great Olympics images burned into it over the years, this is a chance for some new memories to be created on roads I ride / lakes I swim etc..
that's exciting! (for me, at least)

The rings being raised on Tower Bridge last night was epic!

What infuriates me about it is the fact that Olympic officials have their own lanes. Which can also be used by the sponsors.

Hope I don't spoil it for anyone, but I don't watch it now the money has got in.

A couple of weeks ago when I was in Newcastle there were 3 and a half of the 5 rings on one of the big bridges and that said it all for me really...

bah humbug!

Come on Cavendish/Brownlee/Addlington et al!

Are they legal team?

al.

I'm in Olympic avoidance mode.

It's similar to football, tennis and <insert other sport here> mode differing only in that, at some point, I will have to be subjected to it due to the kids or missus being interested.
