Heres an old set of wheels that ive been using on the towpath commuter for a while they are the old 7 speed xt hubs with the grease ports. I couldnt tell you the model number im afraid because it vanished into thin air when I got a bit keen with some brasso ages ago. They are arunning mavic 230 spb rim on the front and a specialized xl21 on the rear. Both hubs run fine but could do with a service, the freehub body is just fine but the rear rim has a bit of a knock in it. It clears my brake pads though. The spokes are branded with a W so i'll make an educated guess that they are wheelsmith.
The rear wheel is coated in shitty horrible goo, I was going to cut the hub out to use on something else but in a late night stroke of laziness/brilliance I thought Id offer it for a fiver if its bought together with the front (complete with foul oily dirt).
These are not handsome, shiny or immaculate (far from it)but they are old and cheap and fine for a hack bike type beast.

Front wheel £15
Rear wheel £5 if bought with the front one.REAR WHEEL NOW SOLD....
I can ship via courier for £5
Thanks for lookingNOW ALL GONE

Rear wheel now sold. Front is still available. The grizzly description was mostly aimed at the scraggy rear wheel. The front is in fairly good nick, not fit for a concourse style gleamer but perfectly fine for a rider.

I'm looking for 230s, what's the rim like? I'm not worried about the condition of the rest, just the rim.

Any chance of close up piccies? :D

Cheers,

Steve

I will fire some pictures over in a little while. The rim runs just fine but it is quite clearly used, I have been commuting on it for a couple of months and before that it looked like it had barely been used but had probably been sat dirty at the back of a garage for 15 years!
I can build it up into a wheel for you if you want to send a hub over. I have been building wheels since the dawn of time (ish).
Thanks
Dan
