Bit of a Trigs Broom this, it's not the best climber nor the best descender nor the lightest but it's certainly the most fun. Other bikes have come and gone but....

That is one nice looking bike man!!

How do you like the SLX cranks? I just picked some up for my
latest build. Also do you have the SLX front mech on there?
If so how is it working out?
I'm going to try the same front drivetrain setup.

Anyway, killer looking bike you have there!

Thanks for your comments. The cranks are great, they replaced a broken XTR set . I chose them as they had steel reinforcements for the peddle threads and the granny has 22 teeth. After 18 months or so they show very little scuffing, just marks from "ground strikes" .
I'm running a XT front mech with no probs at all.

Good luck with the build what will it be?

Thanks for the thoughts on the cranks, and that bike does look nice!
I'm building a 1998 Specialized FSR Elite right now.

Sorry to ask so many questions about your bike, but what kind of chain
guide do you have on there?
I haven't seen one like that, that works with a 2 speed front, not that I
know much about chain guides but I'd like to have one on this build.
That looks like something that might work.

Not shure of the makers name, I swapped it out of my mates spares box for something. TBH I've never had a dropped chain since I fitted a double and bash but they do look the part though.
It was dead easy to fit with no discernable drag the only downside being that there is some noise when in the biggest front ring.
I'm seeing him in the morning so if he can remember who made it I'll get back to you. Looking forward to seeing your build.
