Please excuse this one. It is my wifes bike that she inherited off me following a front end smash into a 4 wheel drive in 98. I hit the back of the car when I was too busy looking over my shoulder. Badly smashed my face up when my prescription sunglasses smashed into my nose. The top and down tubes have slight bulges in and the Tange Fat Blades that wee on it were destroyed too. I ended up with my current silver Zaskar LE from the kindly insurance company. The geometry was slightly altered when the impact occurred.

I bought this of Loz on here (mountainloz) when he moved onto something else in 96 if I remember rightly. Anyway it is used as a shuttle for my two year old lad when she is laid up as I cannot drive a car so today saw its first outing for a good while.

I am now thinking of sticking some better wheels on it and tidying it up a bit as she is threatening that she wants a new bike if I don't do something with it. Bottom bracket is stuck solid in there.

Poor old girl. Check her out. Currently has Deore V Brakes on after my final set of springs for the Onza HOs that wee on it bent beyond repair.

It looks a bit of beaut under all that.
Not too many purple ones about so worth keeping.

I'd say if it rides ok and is safe then carry on.

Wow, looks great. Got to get her going again.

Bottom bracket will come out. Have a search for Legrandefromage's bottom bracket removal thread :D

Cheers. The Mavic headset and the cattlehead were always well liked by me and it had some old X Lite X Country purple risers on too. Rear mech is a 96 STX RC. Needs some loving. :-)
