Old Diamondback Response Elite with Marzocchi XC400 forks

Retro Newbie
Hello Retro Bike!

One of the Single Track World massive directed me to your forum. I've just adopted an old (early 90's??) Diamondback Response Elite mountain bike with early Marzocchi XC400 front forks. It's in really good condition (the forks still work!) and will become my about town bike, once I've cleaned it up a bit.

I have some photos, but as this is my first post I can't give you the URL address for them. Will post again shortly.

Does anyone remember when this bike was out there? Any fond memories or trivia?

Cheers

Hippy Chick

For the lazy amongst us.

I'm not a DB expert, buy that looks to be early 90's to me. About 93 maybe? :? :?

Where you from then Hippy Chick? I lurk around Shrewsbury

93 - 94 sounds about right, as the one I used to race in 95 was deep red and had Manitou Sport forks.

My washing machine was exactly the same as yours :D , had to change it a couple of weeks ago as it was out of balance and i could'nt use fast spin, only used program six.

THE BIKE, look's great 8) , look's very original, should fix up great

First time i've seen a wire for a computer going to the rear wheel :)

I used to run one on my road bike for when it was hooked up to the turbo trainer.
