Old 'Dale Rear Brake Mount Query

Bought a cheap 84/85 Cannondale frame from the US recently and am stumped on the rear brake mounts - see pic.

Expected them to be for a roller cam brake of which I had two in storage. However the SunTour licenced versions I have seem to slot on unthreaded (normall) posts - these are threaded on the ends to accept some sort of nutted element.

Am I guessing correctly that original WTB style roller cam brakes were attached with threaded retaining nuts?

Can these threaded posts be unbonded and replaced with threadless posts if I cannot find a brake to suit?

Thoughts appreciated...

the Suntour rollercams came with bolts or with nuts. i see no reason why you can't just swap the bolts for nuts and are good to go.
